Arts Sunday is now established as a Flagship event within the GAC’s programme made possible initially through the dedicated work of the volunteers and the local arts and music community who have embraced the event whole heartedly.
The 2013 Event includes:
Visual art: Incorporating street art, photography, painting and drawing
Theatre: Performances and workshops by established and upcoming organisations and groups along with performances by students
Dance: Performances and workshops Tap, Jazz, Street, Salsa & Merengue, Latin and Tango along with Morris dancing
Poetry & Literature: Guernsey enjoys a vibrant poetry and literary community and we intend to again celebrate this in a quiet space in the shadow of the town church
Music: Twomusic areas are planned. One to offer acoustic based music featuring singer-songwriters whilst the other allows larger bands the opportunity of the Condor stage with fully amplified sound. We aim to offer a wide and varied programme
Public Art: Commissioned a new piece of work, ‘Line Over Guernsey’, hosted an interactive family activity using chalk across the Crown Pier, and welcomed the display of works from local students and artists
Arts Market Workshops and demos: Again we aim to create a bustling arts market which last year saw 60+ stalls and workshops showcasing visual arts, craft, fashion and textiles, edible art, photography and face painting.
